We have finally, after six months of hard work, gotten our new fantasy RPG series to the point where we can announce it to the world. It will be Avadon: The Black Fortress.
You can now see the screenshots and first details of the story. In the nine months or so it will take to finish the game, we will also be putting monthly development diaries up. That will give nice little breaks from my ranting.
Hope it looks interesting, and we'll have a bunch more information soon.

Nice logo, and the info on the main site looks promising. In all honesty I hope to see entirely new art for items, etc., but of course the graphics are not the point of your games.

The new graphics look great and the description on the website looks promising. However, it doesn't answer the most important question of all... Will there be dragons?

Is this the same thing as Avatar? Certainly looks similar from the logo. Celtic Papyrus, whoo boy.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Jeff. Your timing is impeccable! Hot off the heels of releasing Avernum 6 for the PC, you've already got info out on the next game. Keep cranking them out! As for me, I'm slaving away at my own RPG as we speak.

ReplyDeleteIf you could make your games lan playable, even if multiplayer was limited to 2 people I think you could market them as games that couples can play together.
You could have quest lines for the male and female of the couple.
I know there are MMORPGs out there but I believe there is a hole in the market for games aimed at couples playing together.

ReplyDeleteThe game would need to come with some free matchmaking software to first help you find a mate willing to spend hours in front of two different computers and communicating solely via keyboard.
